Pune: Development works have come to a halt in Karnataka and Rajasthan, says PM Modi

PM Modi Visit Pune

PUNE: After receiving the Lokmanya Tilak National Award. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Fugewadi to Civil Court and Garware station to Ruby Hall Clinic station stretches of Pune Metro by pressing a button. The public dedication of houses built under PM Awas Yojana was also done. During his speech, Modi criticised the governments of Rajasthan and Karnataka.

“Today, India is becoming a country which is providing 5G facility at high speed. The youths are doing a wonderful job in the country. While Maharashtra is progressing, we can see what is happening in Karnataka. The progress in Karnataka is much less than expectations. The promises which have been made are not being fulfilled. This is a cause for concern. The same situation exists in Rajasthan. All development works have come to a halt,” Modi said.

“I am lucky that I have come to Pune. Pune is a very lively city which makes dreams come true. Now, projects worth ₹15,000 crore have been inaugurated. Thousands of people have got homes. Our government thinks about the welfare of the middle class. Two stretches of Pune Metro have been inaugurated. The metro service has started in five years. We have to modernise our public transport system and hence, the metro service is being started. The Metro network in the country is more than 800 km. In 2014, only five cities had a metro service. Today, 20 cities have a metro network. The metro network is the lifeline of a modern India,” he said.

“In 2014, you gave us an opportunity to serve you. In last nine years, our government has built four crore houses. We have built 75 lakh houses for the urban poor. All houses have been transferred to women and the cost of these houses is in lakhs. Through this medium, many women have become millionaires. It is my guarantee to fulfil dreams of the poor and the middle class,” Modi said.
