Pune: The Pune Police Crime Branch has impounded a bullet-proof Scorpio car belonging to Vitthal Shelar who has been arrested in the gangster Sharad Mohol murder case.
Shelar had hidden the white car at his farmhouse in Punawale. When the Crime Branch came to know about the car, they started the process to seize it. Shelar’s accomplices had planned to move the vehicle to some other place.
They were taking away the car. However, they realized that they were being followed by the police. So, they abandoned the car on the road and ran away. The car was then seized. The Crime Branch has till date seized six luxury cars in the Sharad Mohol case. They included cars such as Creta, Innova, Fortuner, etc.
The police came to know about the bullet-proof car when they were taking details about the vehicles from the accused arrested in the Sharad Mohol murder case. Shelar feared that the police would impound his car. Hence, he tried to hide it.
The police came to know about this and they started chasing it. They were alerted when the car came in the Wakad area. However, the occupants of the car left it on the roadside and escaped. A police team took the vehicle into their custody. The police were trying to find out who was taking it away.

He was paraded in the area where he was brought up. A video of the parade has gone viral on social media. Shelar is the second main accused in the Sharad Mohol murder case. He was handcuffed and a rope was tied around his both shoulders and he was paraded on the roadside in Kaveri Nagar in Wakad. Shelar was looking down and following the police instructions.
Vitthal Shelar is a native of Urawade village, nine kilometres away from Mutha town in Mulshi taluka. Serious crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, extortion and kidnap have been registered against him. He was also arrested under the MCOCA. After securing bail, he joined the BJP in the presence of BJP MP Girish Bapat and BJP district unit president Sanjay Bhegde in 2017. He was made incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha of Mulshi, Bhor and Velha talukas. Following his arrest in the Sharad Mohol murder case, the police are getting to the root of his activities.
