PUNE: A couple died by suicide in a lodge at Wagholi by hanging themselves with a dupatta. The incident came to light on Monday from 6 pm to 7 pm. The Lonikand police think that the couple may have taken the extreme step due to an affair.
The couple has been identified as Sachin Gokul Shinde (21), a resident of Kharadi and hailing from Ahmed Nagar and Komal Sunl Barke (20), a resident of Chandan Nagar.
Sachin and Komal had come to the lodge at 11 am and they were going to vacate the room at 6 pm. However, they did not do so. Hence, the employees of the lodge contacted Sachin on his mobile but he did not take the call. The employees of the lodge rang the bell of the room but since there was no response, they pushed the door.
After opening the door, they saw that Sachin and Komal had hanged themselves with a dupatta. They informed the Lonikand police. According to early estimates, the couple may have ended their life due to an affair. Komal was doing DMLT course and Sachin was working in a private company. API Suraj is carrying out further probe.
