Pune: Traffic Department Advises Commuters to Avoid Certain Routes During Prime Minister’s Visit

Pune, July 30th, 2023: In light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Pune on August 1, the city’s traffic department has announced changes in the traffic movement to facilitate the movement of VVIP convoys. During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several development projects, including the Pune Metro, and will also be conferred with the Lokmanya Tilak Award.

The event will be attended by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers of the state, leading to heightened security and traffic management measures. In order to ensure smooth movement and security for the dignitaries, certain routes in the city will be diverted, and citizens are advised to avoid these routes during the specified period on August 1 to avoid inconvenience.

The changes in traffic movement will be in effect between 6:00 am to 3:00 PM on August 1. Commuters are urged to avoid the following routes during this time:

  2. Simla Office Chowk
  3. Sancheti Chowk
  4. S.G. Barve Chowk
  5. Gadgil Putala Chowk
  6. Budhwar Chowk
  7. Sevasadan Chowk
  8. Alka Chowk
  9. Tilak Road
  10. Jedhe Chowk
  11. Ferguson College Road
  12. Sangamwadi Road
  13. Sadal Baba Chowk
  14. Golf Club Chowk
  15. Airport Road

Taking alternate routes during the mentioned period will help commuters avoid any inconvenience caused by the traffic diversions.

The traffic department is taking necessary precautions to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and to maintain the security arrangements during the Prime Minister’s visit. It is advisable for citizens to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the authorities for the successful conduct of the event.
