Pune: A few days ago, a violent machete attack by a few accused on three youths in the Vadgaon Sheri area sent shockwaves through the area. In that attack, the accused violently struck a few individuals with a machete. However, due to prompt intervention from the female officer of the Chandannagar police station, Seema Mansingh Valvi, a tragic incident was averted. For this heroic deed, a police commissioner felicitated a female officer yesterday, congratulating her for her vigilant act.
A few days ago, when Valvi was returning home after completing her duty late at night, she came across a violent brawl between two groups at Digambarnagar in Vadgaon Sheri. She noticed that a few individuals were attacking others with machetes and sticks.
Valvi quickly dismounted from her bike and intervened to restore order. She promptly informed the local police station and rescued one of the injured youth. Meanwhile, other accused managed to escape from the scene; however, Valvi bravely held one of the accused till the police team came to the spot.
After this incident, Chandannagar police arrested five accused in just 20 minutes. The names of the arrested accused are Anuj Jitendra Yadav (19), Harikesh Tuntun Chavan (18), Akash Bharat Pawar (23), Amol Vasant Chowrghade, and Sandesh Sudhir Kamble. Saurabh Santosh Padale (22), Rishikesh Dhore, Abhi Agarkar, and Yogesh Kadam are injured.
Due to her brave act, a few lives were saved. In this spat, Valvi received some injuries; however, her unwavering commitment to police service was widely appreciated on social media.
Taking note of it, Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokale, Additional Commissioner of Police (East Regional Division) Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amol Zende, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Borate, DCP Sambhaji Kadam, and Inspector of Police (Crime) Manisha Patil congratulated Valvi yesterday.
