Pune: Alleged Scammers Swindle Kothrud Resident In Rs 2 Lakh Solar Pump Ruse

Pune: In yet another act of well-organised stratagem, a resident of Kothrud, Narendra Vijay Deshmukh, fell victim to an online fraud case, resulting in the loss of a substantial sum of Rs 2 lakh. The victim promptly lodged a formal complaint with the Alankar Police Station, leading to the initiation of a thorough investigation.

According to the police report, the unfortunate series of events began when Mr. Deshmukh, with the intention of acquiring five HP solar pumps, visited the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) scheme.

However, tracing his online activity, a resident of Chandigarh, identified as Vikas Vijaykumar Jain, approached the plaintiff, Deshmukh, and assured him of possible help in getting solar pumps through this scheme.

After quickly gaining his trust, Jain illicitly took 1 lakh 72 thousand 980 rupees from Deshmukh under the guise of different charges. However, once the money was in his possession, the accused not only failed to provide the promised solar pumps but also refused to return the money he had acquired through deceit.

In response to this fraud, Deshmukh took immediate action by filing a formal complaint with the Alankar Police Station, which subsequently led to the registration of a case against the alleged perpetrators. In this case, a case has been registered against Vikas Vijaykumar Jain (age-38 resident of Chandigarh) and Dheerajkumar, Sunnykumar, under IPC 419, 420, IT Act 66(C), 66(D). Police Inspector Patil is conducting further investigation.
