Pune: Accused Duped Five People to Rs 2.5 Lakh for Falsely Claiming Them Loan Under Mudra Yojana

Pune: A person living in Dattawadi has cheated five people to the tune of 2 lakh and 40 thousand rupees. In this case, a 26-year-old woman residing in the Karve nagar area filed a police complaint at Alankar Police Station on Sunday.

The plaintiff, Sonali Santosh Londhe, complained that she, along with the other four people, wanted to take a loan under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Karja Yojana for business. Gaining their trust, the accused, identified as Shantaram Maruti Shirke (age 51 and a resident of Dattawadi), told them that he would make them available a loan under the Mudra Yojana.

Accordingly, the accused time and again extracted Rs 2 lakh and 40 thousand from these people, citing various reasons. But, as the plaintiff did not receive the loan, she started demanding money back from the accused. At that time, the accused started giving vague responses.

After realising that she was cheated, the plaintiff approached the Alankar police station on Sunday and lodged a complaint against the accused. The police are conducting further investigations.
