Pune: 39-year-old man cheated by couple of more than Rs 1,20,99,000 on pretext of making him a business partner

Pune: A 39-year-old man has been cheated by a couple from Baner on the pretext of making him a business partner after investment. The couple cheated the man of Rs 1,20,99,000. A case of fraud has been registered against the couple. The incident took place between September 22 and October 7, 2023 near Baner Prime Rose Mall.

Santosh Rangnath Chinchwade (42) and Roshana Santosh Chinchwade (39 ) of Mahalunge in Baner have been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 406, 420, 34 and MPID Act Section 3 . Akash Gajanan Jadhav (39) a resident of Baner has filed a complaint in Chaturshrungi Police Station.

According to the police, the accused were running firms named Chinchwade Foods and Beverages and Samiksha Prices. He had taken over the dealership of PepsiCo in Pune district. At that time, the accused lured the complainant and his friends with higher returns if they invested in their business. They also said that he will make them partners in business. Trusting the accused, the complainant and his friends invested Rs 1,20,99,000. After investing the money, the accused did not give any kind of return.

The complainant had lodged a complaint at the Chaturshrungi police station regarding Chinchwade’s embezzlement of money and fraud. After investigating the application, the police have registered a case against both.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Assistant Police Inspector Kendre.
