Wellington College International: A Legacy of Education Comes to Pune

Wellington College International (WCI), renowned for its 170-year-old heritage as one of the top UK schools, has made its mark in Pune with the establishment of its campus in Wagholi. WCI Pune, a coeducational day and boarding school catering to 800 students aged 2-18, is situated on a meticulously designed campus by MICA, a prominent British architectural firm. The institution follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and the English National Curriculum, culminating in International Studies, aligning with Wellington College UK’s global academic excellence.

WCI Pune marks the first of many planned schools across India in collaboration with the Unison Group. The vision for Wellington College International Pune is to provide world-class education, combining academic excellence with a progressive holistic approach.

The grand inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Anuj Aggarwal – Co-Founder and Chairman Board of Governors, Mrs. Meghna Aggarwal, Mr. James Dahl – Master, Wellington College UK, Ms. Resham Chordia – Director, Panchshil Reality & Member of Board of Governors (WCI Pune), Dr. Murray Tod – Founding Master (WCI Pune), among others. The event celebrated the school’s parents, pupils, governors, staff, teachers, and esteemed guests.

WCI Pune’s campus features dedicated outdoor activity areas for Early Years and Junior School, enhancing the physical and cognitive development of young learners. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including learning studios, a Design and Technology Centre, Robotics Lab, Innovation Lab, Science Centre, Arts Centre for Performing and Fine Arts, Black Box Theatre, a 400-seat auditorium, and a Central Dining Hall designed to meet HICAAP standards.

Mr. James Dahl expressed his excitement about WCI Pune becoming the eighth school in the Wellington College family, emphasizing Pune’s reputation as the “Oxford of the East.” He envisioned the students educated at WCI Pune as future leaders who will shape a better world, commending the genuine partnership formed with the Pune community.
