NCP seeks strict action against those dumping debris in Mula Mutha river

PUNE: Since the last few days, some anti-social elements are trying to fill up the 500 metre main river bed of Mula Mutha located on the left side of the bridge at Shanti Nagar on the road going from Shanti Nagar to Ammunition Factory, Khadki. The vehicles are being plied illegally and debris are being dumped by some people.

The NCP took a serious view of this and party activists met local residents and conducted an agitation on the riverbed. The flow of water is going to be affected and the rainwater will enter settlements near the river causing floods. The NCP had submitted a memorandum to municipal commissioner, district collectorate and the local police station seeking stern action against these anti-social elements who are trying to block the main river bed.

However, since the illegal activities continue unabated, NCP spokesman Pradeep Deshmukh led a delegation including General Secretary Vinod Pawar and Kiran Adagale and met CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik and submitted a memorandum and sought tough action against the concerned people.
