Pune: Maharashtra State Skills University (MSSU) is offering a diverse range of skill courses for students interested in enhancing their skills. The courses include subjects such as cyber security, data science, artificial intelligence, construction technology and management, and cloud computing, among others. MSSU aims to prioritize employability by offering unique courses in Pune with multiple entry-exit options, including a two-year diploma, three-year bachelor’s degree, and four-year degree programs.
Each course offered by MSSU emphasizes on-the-job training as a crucial component. These courses will be conducted at the university’s satellite center located at the Industrial Training Institute in Aundh, Pune. The Pune center of MSSU will provide BTech programs in mechatronics, computer technology, information technology, and BBA in retail, with an intake capacity of 60 seats for each program.
Apoorva Palkar, the Vice-Chancellor of MSSU, highlighted the distinctive aspect of the programs, stating, “The uniqueness of the programs is in providing work experience while learning. Every student will have exposure to real working environments while studying and will also receive a stipend.”
Additionally, the Pune center will offer master’s programs in high-end and aspirational fields, including Big Data and Hadoop, cyber security, Industry 4.0, and Artificial Intelligence, each with an intake capacity of 20 seats. All MTech courses will incorporate on-the-job training with leading IT companies, enhancing the practical experience of the students.
Palkar also mentioned the recently launched “finishers’ platform” by the university, designed for upskilling professionals who have 2-7 years of work experience and wish to advance their careers to higher levels. These professionals will soon have the opportunity to enroll in these courses and further enhance their skills, adding value to their professions.
Within a span of 10 months since its launch, MSSU has developed unique programs aligned with the New Education Policy. The fees for the BBA programs will be Rs 35,000, while the BTech courses will cost Rs 1.10 lakh.
MSSU’s initiative to offer these skill courses reflects its commitment to providing students with relevant and industry-driven education. By integrating on-the-job training and practical experiences, the university aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in their chosen fields. These new courses provide valuable opportunities for students to enhance their employability and contribute to Maharashtra’s skilled workforce.
