Maharani Saibai’s Legacy: Maharashtra Government Allocates Rs 30 Crore for Grand Samadhi at Rajgad Fort

The Maharashtra government has allocated a substantial sum of Rs 29.73 crore for the development of Maharani Saibai’s memorial, situated at the base of Rajgad fort in Velhe taluka, Pune district. Maharani Saibai, the esteemed wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the mother of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, will have her legacy preserved through the construction of a grand samadhi at this historically significant site.

Baramati MP and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Working President, Supriya Sule, shared the news on social media, emphasizing her continuous efforts in advocating for the development of Maharani Saibai’s memorial. In her statement, she expressed, “This allocation ensures the preservation of Maharani Saibai’s legacy. I envision a grand monument dedicated to Maharani Saibai to be erected at this site.”

The allocated funds will be utilized to create a dignified and culturally rich samadhi that pays homage to Maharani Saibai’s pivotal role in the history of Maharashtra. The memorial is expected to become a symbol of historical significance and cultural pride, attracting visitors and history enthusiasts alike.

Maharani Saibai played a crucial role in the Maratha Empire, contributing to the lineage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
