Lonavla Police Crackdown: Bar Owners Booked for Late-Night Violations

In a bid to enforce regulations set under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, the Lonavla police have taken stern action against two orchestra bar owners for violating orders that mandated closure by 12.30 am. The incident occurred on March 6, following an earlier directive from the Pune rural police to shut down bars and permit rooms in the district by the specified time.

The two establishments in question, Deepa Bar and Restaurant in Kamshet and Flavors Bar and Restaurant in Vadgaon, were found operating into the late hours of the night, playing loud music that disrupted the peace for local residents, as reported by the police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Satya Sai Karthik, highlighted the strict guidelines in place for such establishments and emphasized that despite these regulations, the two bars were serving food and liquor beyond the prescribed limits, while also disturbing the peace with loud music. Consequently, legal action has been taken against both establishments.

Karthik further stated, “All establishments must strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by Pune rural police, and if anybody is found violating them, strict action will be taken against them.”
