Leaking Roof Incident Raises Concerns at Pune’s Civil Court Metro Station After Rain

Pune, August 23, 2023: Commuters using the Civil Court Metro Station were taken aback on Tuesday when they observed a leaking roof within the station premises. The incident occurred shortly after a brief spell of rain, prompting questions about the station’s infrastructure and its ability to withstand heavy rainfall. The occurrence has ignited concerns about the quality of construction and maintenance at various metro stations across the city.

The leaky roof caught the attention of passengers as they witnessed water seeping through the station’s ceiling. This occurrence raised immediate worries about the potential consequences if Pune experiences a substantial downpour. It also prompted a reflection on the durability and effectiveness of the metro station’s structural elements.

Metro officials swiftly took action to address the situation. Precautionary measures, including the placement of barricades, were enacted near the escalators to manage the accumulation of water. Additionally, leaks were detected on the station platforms, causing disruptions and discomfort for commuters.

Notably, the Civil Court Interchange Metro Station holds distinction as India’s deepest metro station. It stands as the sole station where different metro lines, encompassing elevated and underground sections of the Pune Metro network, converge.
