Land Handed Over: Ghorpadi ROB Construction Gears Up for January Kickoff

In a significant development for Pune’s infrastructure, the Indian Army has officially handed over the required land for the construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on the Pune to Miraj Railway line at Ghorpadi. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), in collaboration with the military authorities, is now set to initiate the crucial project, furthering the city’s connectivity and transportation capabilities.

The successful acquisition of the land signifies a collaborative effort between the PMC and the Indian Army, with both entities working in tandem to facilitate the construction of the ROB. As part of the agreement, the PMC will provide cash compensation and construct quarters for the army, ensuring a smooth and efficient transfer of land for the public infrastructure project.

The PMC has already initiated the tender process for the ROB construction, emphasizing its commitment to timely project execution. Municipal authorities have stated that contractual work orders are anticipated to be issued before the end of February, marking the initiation of construction activities.

The Southern Command Indian Army’s recent meeting with PMC officials showcased a shared commitment to progress, with both parties acknowledging the significance of the timely handover of defense land for the ROB project. The commendable cooperation between the military and civic authorities sets the stage for the awarding of construction contracts, expected by December 23.

The Ghorpadi ROB project is a pivotal component of Pune’s infrastructure development, addressing the connectivity needs of the city. The construction of this railway bridge aligns with the larger vision of enhancing transportation networks, streamlining rail routes, and fostering overall urban development.

As the tendering process advances and contractual agreements are finalized, the construction of the Pune Miraj Railway ROB is poised to commence by January 2024. The project holds immense promise for Pune’s residents, promising improved connectivity and streamlined transportation along the Pune Miraj railway route.
