For two decades, Nandanik Sanstha has illuminated the spirits of Durga Puja devotees in Koregaon Park. A Decade of Devotion: Celebrating Durga Puja with Nandanik Sanstha

Nandanik Sanstha’s Durga Puja has become an annual tradition that Pune eagerly anticipates. This year’s celebration will take place at Rohi Villa, Lane 7, Koregaon Park, from October 20th to 24th, 2023. The festivities will commence with Mahashashti Puja on October 20th and culminate with Sindoor Khela and Visarjan on Dussehra, October 24th, 2023. Daily rituals of Pushpanjali and Sandhya Aarti will be held at 10.30 am and 6.30 pm, respectively.

Gautam Banerjee’s Reflections on Nandanik Sanstha’s Journey

Gautam Banerjee, the President of Nandanik Sanstha, shared his thoughts on this significant milestone, stating, “20 years of Nandanik’s Durga Puja is a big milestone for the Sanstha. These two decades of hosting the Durga puja have been an opportunity to serve the devotees and the community through our small contributions towards social cause endeavors and also provide business opportunities to small and large organizations. Marking the 20th year, we aim to treat Ma’s devotees to some exclusive and grand cultural programs.”

Mr. Banerjee expressed gratitude for the love and support received from devotees and local authorities in Koregaon Park, acknowledging that their backing has been pivotal in the journey. He also commended Rohi Villa for offering the space and ambiance that elevates Nandanik Sanstha’s Durgotasav to a unique and grand celebration each year. A testament to the event’s success is the long-standing relationships with stall owners, some of whom have been associated for over five years. The stalls at Rohi Villa, which offer a delightful range of products, have become an integral part of the overall Puja experience.

As a responsible organization, Nandanik Sanstha focuses on environmental concerns, avoiding the use of plastics within the pandal premises. Eco-friendly materials are utilized for the Idol and decoration, and the Sanstha takes charge of garbage disposal and management right at the source. The team remains committed to hosting Ma Durga with love and devotion and seeks the continued support of her devotees.

Enriching Cultural Programs for a Milestone Year

This milestone year brings a lineup of culturally enriching programs. Durnibar Saha, the renowned Bengali singer known for his appearances on Zee Bangla’s SA Re Ga Ma, will grace the Saptami Evening. On Ashtami, the audience will be treated to a mesmerizing dance performance by the Prajakta Atre Dance troupe, led by Prajakta Raj (Atre), a well-known Kathak dancer. The Mahanavami evening will feature enthralling performances by Priyanka Mitra and Sriijiit, artists specializing in Bollywood music.

A Literary Treat for Bengali Literature Enthusiasts

To mark this special occasion, Nandanik Sanstha has a literary delight in store for Bengali literature enthusiasts. The iconic Kolkata Boi Mela team, supported by Bengali Book Promotional Services in India [BBPSI], will participate in the prestigious Durgotsav’23. Traveling from Kolkata to set up their stall in the Pandal, they will showcase and sell a variety of Bengali best-sellers, novels, stories, Rachanabali, Sharadia, and more from over 40 top-notch publishers of Bengal. Additionally, a selected collection of music and movies will be available. The Kolkata Boi Mela is a cherished tradition for Bengali literature lovers, and now, those in Pune can enjoy this unique experience.

Food and Shopping Extravaganza

To cater to visitors’ gastronomic and shopping needs, Nandanik Sanstha has arranged for a diverse range of options. From authentic Bengali cuisine offered by Pratap Caterers to the beloved rolls culture of West Bengal by Rolls Mania, and delectable ice creams by Mother Dairy, there’s something to tantalize every palate.
