Expired Ration Cards and Black-Marketing Woes: MNS Raises Alarms in Pimpri Chinchwad

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has raised a red flag regarding the issue of expired ration cards and black-marketing in local ration shops in Pimpri Chinchwad. This concerning situation has left numerous residents in Pimpri Chinchwad without access to essential food and medical benefits. To address these pressing matters, MNS representatives, led by City President Sachin Chikhale, convened a meeting with the Foodgrain Distribution Officer, Dadasaheb Gite.

This issue has persisted over an extended period, with residents encountering significant obstacles when attempting to seek assistance or information about their invalidated ration cards. The explanations provided for these card closures have often left citizens feeling disillusioned. Furthermore, local ration shopkeepers have frequently been unhelpful in responding to citizen inquiries.

In response to these challenges, affected citizens are typically redirected to divisional offices, where they encounter additional hurdles in obtaining the support they require.

It is essential to recognize that numerous government processes have transitioned to online platforms, including the registration of ration cards. However, some ration cardholders do not possess the necessary 12-digit identification numbers, and even those who do may face technical difficulties during online registration. These issues have resulted in citizens struggling to access the benefits to which they are entitled.

In light of these concerns, Sachin Chikhale, the MNS city president, underscores the urgency of promptly resolving these problems to ensure that government benefits reach every citizen. He has issued a stern warning that failure to address these issues may lead to agitation by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Pimpri Chinchwad city.
