Pune, 19th July 2023: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently announced the appointment of new party presidents for various districts in Maharashtra. The party has made key changes in leadership, including the appointment of new presidents for Pune City, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune Rural (Baramati), and Pune Rural (Maval).
As per the official release, Dhiraj Ghate, a prominent BJP leader, has been appointed as the new Pune City President, replacing Jagdish Mulik. Additionally, Shankar Jagtap has been appointed as the president of the Pimpri Chinchwad unit, while Vasudev Nana Shakarrao Kale will assume the role of Pune Rural’s Baramati unit president. Sharad Anandrao Butte Patil has been appointed as the president of Pune Rural’s Maval unit.
Shankar Jagtap, brother of the late MLA Laxman Jagtap, was also a contender in the race to contest the assembly election following his brother’s unfortunate demise earlier this year. Dhiraj Ghate, who had previously expressed aspirations to contest the assembly election from the Kasba constituency, has now been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the city unit of the party. This reshuffling of leadership is considered significant as the district is likely to witness three upcoming elections, including the municipal corporation, state assembly, and Lok Sabha elections.
The appointment of new presidents for key districts reflects the party’s strategy to strengthen its organizational structure and leadership ahead of the upcoming elections. These new leaders will play a crucial role in mobilizing party workers, connecting with voters, and representing the party’s interests in their respective districts.
