Devotees Flock to Bhimashankar Temple on Last Shravan Monday for Mahapooja

In a grand culmination of the auspicious Shravan month, devotees converged at the revered Bhimashankar Temple to partake in the sacred ritual of ‘Jalabhishek’ (anointing with holy water) and offer their prayers on the fourth and final Monday. The Bhimashankar Temple holds a significant place among the twelve Jyotirlingas, the sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. During the holy month of Shravan, particularly on every Monday, it becomes a pilgrimage site drawing countless devotees and tourists from across the nation. For this special occasion, devotees began arriving as early as midnight to seek the divine blessings of the deity.

The traditional ‘aarti’ and ‘mahapooja’ ceremonies at the Bhimashankar Temple unfolded between 4:30 am and 5 am on this momentous fourth Monday of Shravan. The temple premises were adorned with vibrant and colorful flowers, creating an atmosphere steeped in divinity. The event was graced by the presence of various dignitaries, including MLA Mahesh Landge, Advocate Suresh Kaudare, President of the Bhimashankar Temple Trust, and others.

Later in the day, prominent figures such as Revenue and Animal Husbandry Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, accompanied by his wife Shalinitai Vikhe, MP Rajan Vichare, Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, and his wife, sought the blessings of Lord Shiva by visiting the temple. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is also slated to make a visit to the temple later in the day. In anticipation of the large crowds, the Khed police station has efficiently organized parking facilities near the temple premises, and an adequate police presence has been deployed to manage the traffic effectively, ensuring the safety and convenience of all attendees.

The fourth Monday of Shravan month at the Bhimashankar Temple is a time-honored tradition that unites devotees in their reverence for Lord Shiva and reaffirms the spiritual significance of this sacred site.
