Pune: The police on Wednesday busted a prostitution racket being run under the guise of a massage centre in Dhanori. Three women were rescued from the centre.
Woman police constable Manisha Suresh Pukale lodged a complaint against the accused at the Vishrantwadi Police Station. Ranjana Sanatun Singdevi (35), a resident of Dhanori, originally hailing from Assam, was arrested. Her accomplices Suresh Shahu and Puja Pawar were booked.
According to the police, the Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch got a tip-off that a prostitution ring was being run under the guise of a massage centre at Premium Unique Salon near Goodwill Square in Mahadev Nagar in Dhanori. The police confirmed the input and raided five places and rescued three women. The accused were earning their livelihood by luring women into prostitution promising money.
