Vote ECI

Addressing mounting concerns stemming from rumors circulating regarding the operational status of CCTV cameras at the Ranjangaon MIDC strong room housing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency, District Collector and Election Officer Dr. Suhas Diwase has moved swiftly to dispel any misconceptions.

Contrary to speculations suggesting a temporary shutdown of CCTV cameras akin to incidents witnessed in other constituencies, Dr. Diwase has categorically stated that such claims are unfounded. Emphasizing the robust security measures in place, he reassured the public that each strong room is meticulously monitored via CCTV surveillance, with multiple layers of security protocols meticulously enforced.

Furthermore, Dr. Diwase underscored the presence of representatives from all political candidates alongside officials from the Election Commission of India, ensuring comprehensive oversight and transparency in the electoral process. Additionally, watch towers have been strategically positioned at all strong rooms to bolster surveillance efforts and safeguard the integrity of the electoral proceedings.

The dissemination of misinformation through various media channels has perpetuated unwarranted alarm and uncertainty. Dr. Diwase has unequivocally dismissed such rumors, urging the public to remain vigilant against the proliferation of misleading information.

Previously, similar incidents had been reported in other constituencies, prompting swift corrective action in response to complaints lodged by concerned parties. In instances where CCTV cameras were temporarily non-operational, prompt intervention was initiated to rectify the situation and restore surveillance capabilities.

Raising concerns over the purported mismanagement, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar took to social media to highlight the issue, reflecting a growing sentiment of apprehension among opposition parties regarding the integrity of the electoral process.
