Tragic Electrocution Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Hotel Worker in Talawade

Pune Crime News

Talawade, Maharashtra – A somber mood hangs over Talawade following the untimely demise of 17-year-old hotel worker Gautam Bansode, who tragically lost his life due to electrocution while on duty. The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about safety standards in the workplace.

Gautam Bansode, a resident of Nigdi, was employed as a worker at a local tea stall in Talawade. According to police reports, the fatal electrocution occurred during routine work hours when Bansode inadvertently came into contact with a malfunctioning refrigerator, resulting in a lethal electric shock.

Premkumar Bansode, the grieving father of the deceased, filed a complaint highlighting an electrical wiring issue that caused the fatal accident. Despite warnings from Bansode and other workers about the potential danger posed by the faulty wiring, the hotel owner, identified as Ganesh Jagtap, allegedly disregarded the concerns.

API Ganesh Kharge expressed dismay over the incident, stating, “Even after knowing the electrical wiring issue, the accused asked Bansode to stand on the fridge to get tea cups.”

Efforts to save Gautam Bansode’s life proved futile as he was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Prompt action by police authorities ensued, with an investigation launched into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. Initial inquiries have revealed glaring safety lapses and potential negligence concerning electrical hazards within the hotel’s premises.

In light of these findings, the police apprehended Ganesh Jagtap, the hotel owner, under relevant sections pertaining to negligence leading to death.

A case has been registered at Chikhali police station against the accused under IPC sections 304(ii) and 14(1) of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2016.
