In a significant move aimed at bolstering healthcare infrastructure, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has unveiled plans to establish a specialized 60-bed cancer treatment center at Thergaon Hospital through a public-private partnership (PPP).
The civic body recently issued a tender for the construction of this state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility, highlighting its commitment to providing advanced healthcare services to residents.
Notably, the hospital’s design incorporates provisions for future expansion, with plans to increase its capacity to 100 beds to meet the growing demand for cancer care services in the region.
Officials emphasize that treatment charges at the hospital will be aligned with the rates set by government healthcare schemes such as the Mahatma Jyotiba Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) and the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), ensuring affordability and accessibility to cancer treatment for individuals across all income brackets.
Shekhar Singh, Municipal Commissioner of PCMC, expressed the municipality’s dedication to enhancing healthcare facilities, stating, “The hospital will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, and we are continuously striving to enhance our facilities and deliver the best possible service to our citizens.”
