Temporary Leadership Shift: Rahul Mahival Takes Over as PCMC Commissioner

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh has taken earned leave until June 28, 2024. In his absence, Rahul Mahival, the Commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority, has been given additional charge of the PCMC Commissioner role. This assignment was made by the Maharashtra Government’s Urban Development Department.

Commissioner Rahul Mahival convened a meeting today at the main administrative building in Pimpri, where he met with department heads to review the corporation’s ongoing operations. Key topics of discussion included the preparations for the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession, disaster management strategies, and drainage cleaning efforts. Mahival issued several directives to the concerned officials to ensure the smooth functioning of these operations.

Mahival reviewed the arrangements and facilities planned for the devotees, emphasizing the necessity of thorough preparation to ensure no deficiencies in the provided services.

Mahival urged all officials to work in coordination to ensure that the procession takes place in a joyous and vibrant atmosphere. He also stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance for any emergency situations and promptly addressing urgent municipal matters. Furthermore, Mahival highlighted the importance of considering citizens’ issues in the provision of municipal services, directing all department heads to prioritize and address these concerns diligently.
