Pune’s Ravet School Faces De-recognition Over Lapses: PCMC Takes Stern Measures

In a significant development, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) education department has recommended the de-recognition of a school in Ravet, Pune. The decision comes following an investigation that exposed several violations, including the school’s failure to renew its license and conduct a necessary fire audit. The institution, known as Creative Academy, runs both the school and hostel in Ravet.

Key Points:

License and Safety Lapses: The civic education department’s recent investigation revealed critical lapses on the part of Creative Academy. The school administration neglected to renew its license, and no fire audit had been conducted, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of the students.

Outstation Students Sent Home: In response to the recommendation for de-recognition, parents of outstation students are taking their children home due to the uncertain situation. Over 166 students who were studying in the two schools affiliated with Creative Academy have returned to various places in the state. Their return for exams remains uncertain.

Documentation Failures: The school administration faced difficulties providing essential documents related to CBSE affiliation, school transportation committee, fees, and teachers-parents meetings. The lack of necessary paperwork and information contributed to the PCMC’s decision to recommend de-recognition.

Security Measures: In light of the situation, the police have implemented tight security on the school premises to ensure the safety of the property and maintain order.

Legal Actions Initiated: PCMC has taken a proactive stance by appealing to the Charity Commissioner’s Office to register a complaint against Creative Academy Trust for allegedly running the school illegally. The absence of a board or documentation indicating the existence of a residential school has prompted this appeal.

Social Welfare Department Involvement: PCMC has also urged the Social Welfare Department to take strict action against Creative Academy, particularly regarding the lack of approval documentation for the hostel.

This development underscores the significance of adherence to safety and regulatory standards in educational institutions and the accountability of administrators in ensuring the well-being of students.
