Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone for the long-awaited Pimpri to Nigdi metro line, fulfilling a demand that has echoed in Pimpri-Chinchwad for the past decade. The inauguration of this significant metro expansion has been assured by Shankar Jagtap, the BJP Pimpri Chinchwad City President, who envisions the inauguration ceremony to be led by PM Modi after securing a third term as the Prime Minister.
In a tweet from Shankar Jagtap’s official handle, he highlighted the historical significance of the first metro line in Pune, running from Pimpri to Shivajinagar. PM Modi not only performed the groundbreaking ceremony for this route but also inaugurated the metro line, which has since played a crucial role in alleviating traffic congestion between Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Expressing optimism for the future, Jagtap tweeted, “Now, the foundation stone ceremony of Pimpri to Nigdi metro line has been done by Prime Minister Modi. I believe that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, more than 400 BJP MPs will be elected, and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister of our country for the third time with a majority.”
He further added, “After that, the work of Pimpri to Nigdi metro line will be completed as soon as possible, and its inauguration will also be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
The foundation stone ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including MP Shrirang Barne, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, MLA Ashwini Jagtap, MLA Mahesh Landge, MLA Anna Bansode, MLC Uma Khapare, former mayor Yogesh Bahl, BJP state member Sadashiv Khade, BJP city general secretary Namdev Dhake, Vilas Madegiri, and others.
