Opportunity Extended for Citizens to Apply for Affordable Housing in Maharashtra
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has granted an extension of the application deadline for 4,777 flats in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, catering to various income groups. With the new deadline set for May 30, citizens have more time to avail themselves of this housing opportunity.
The registration process for the MHADA draw commenced on March 7, offering a diverse range of housing options across different schemes. Among these are 2,416 flats available under the MHADA scheme on a first-come, first-served priority basis, along with 18 flats under various other MHADA schemes. Additionally, the offering includes 59 flats under the MHADA PMAY scheme, 978 flats under the PMAY private partnership scheme, 745 flats in the Pune Municipal Corporation under the 20% scheme, and 561 flats in Pimpri-Chinchwad under the same initiative.
Ashok Patil, the Chief Officer of MHADA Pune Division, highlighted that the decision to extend the deadline was prompted by citizens’ requests for additional time to complete their applications for MHADA houses.
Patil underscored the transparency of the entire lottery process, assuring that the pre-lot application, allotment, and post-lot possession procedures would be fully computerized and conducted online.
To apply for the MHADA housing lottery, interested individuals can visit the official website www.mhada.gov.in to fill out the online application form. For flats available under the first-come, first-served scheme, applicants should register at lottery.mhada.gov.in.
