Pune City Traffic Police Releases Guidelines to Ease Congestion During Ramadan Eid Festivities

As the Muslim community in Pune prepares to celebrate Ramadan Eid on Thursday, April 11, the Pune City Traffic Police has unveiled traffic diversions in key areas to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and ensure the safety of worshippers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Rohidas Pawar, has issued directives outlining the traffic diversions to be enforced on the day of Eid. These measures are designed to manage traffic flow effectively, especially around areas where Eid prayers are expected to draw large congregations.

For the Namaz proceedings scheduled at Golibar Maidan Chowk in Camp on April 11th, starting from 6:00 AM onwards, traffic diversions will be implemented as follows:

  1. Route Closure at Shankar Sheth Road: The route leading to Swargate from Golibar Maidan Chowk will be closed during Namaz. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route via CDO Chowk, Salisbury Park Road, Giridhar Bhawan Chowk, and Seven Loves Chowk.
  2. Diversion from CDO Chowk: Traffic from CDO Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be rerouted through Khanya Maruti Chowk, Khatav Bangla Chowk, and Napier Road.
  3. Alternative Route from Seven Loves Chowk: Motorists can take Salisbury Park Road, CDO Chowk, and Bhairobanala to reach Golibar Maidan Chowk.
  4. Restrictions from Solapur Road: Traffic from Solapur Road via Mammadevi Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be redirected via Bishop School or Command Hospital diversion.
  5. Rerouting from Bhairobanala: Traffic from Bhairobanala to Golibar Maidan Chowk will be diverted through Empress Garden or Lullanagar.
  6. Restrictions for Heavy Vehicles from Kondhwa: Heavy vehicles from the Kondhwa area bound for Golibar Maidan Chowk will face restrictions and are advised to use alternate routes via Lullanagar Chowk or Gangadham Chowk.

Similar traffic diversions will be enforced in other parts of the city where Eid prayers are scheduled. The Pune City Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to cooperate with authorities to ensure a seamless Eid celebration.
