Special campaign undertaken to get PMKSY, NKSY benefits to 12 lakh farmers: Dhananjay Munde

Mumbai, Aug 10 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has undertaken a special campaign till August 15 to pass on the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana (PMKSY) and Namo Kisan Samman Yojana (NKSY) to 12 lakh farmers in the state.

According to a state government media press statement on Thursday, around 12 lakh eligible farmers in the state were deprived of the 14th installment of PMKSY due to non-updated land records, non-e-KYC, and Aadhaar bank account linkage.

However, to ensure the eligible farmers were not deprived of the two schemes from now on, agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde undertook the special campaign to fulfil all three registrations and conditions in an integrated and dynamic manner.

Under the campaign, a control committee consisting of a tehsildar, Taluka land records officer, and agriculture officer has been formed at each taluka level. Under their supervision, the village level sevak, talathi, and agriculture sevak will find the farmers who are deprived of benefits due to the above three conditions and fulfil all three conditions through them, the statement said.

According to the statement, because of the deprived 12 lakh farmers, the 14th instalment of PMKSY was received by only 85 lakh out of 97 lakh eligible farmers.

Now, before distributing the first installment of the NKSY announced on behalf of the state government to the farmers of the state, Munde has taken the initiative to fulfil all the conditions of the 12 lakh farmers deprived of the central scheme.

In this regard, Dhananjay Munde has written a letter to the Secretary of the Agriculture Department and given necessary instructions, and action is being taken accordingly.

If the said campaign is successful, these 12 lakh farmers in the state will get the double benefit of PMKSY from the central government and NKSY from the state, the statement added.
