Mumbai’s Thirst Quenched by Alternative Water Brands as Rail Neer Faces Hiccup

Mumbai’s bustling railway stations will face a temporary suspension in the supply of the beloved ‘Rail Neer’ water bottles, an essential commodity for train travelers, from October 16 to October 22. The decision comes in the wake of a technical issue encountered during the manufacturing process.

Understanding the Rail Neer Suspension:

Dr. Shivraj Manaspure, Chief PRO of Central Railways, addressed the situation, stating, “A technical problem has arisen in the production of Rail Neer brand water bottles. Consequently, Rail Neer bottles will be unavailable at Mumbai Railway Stations during the period from October 16 to October 22, 2023.”

The suspension of Rail Neer water bottles will affect several key railway stations in the Mumbai region. Passengers traveling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kasara/Karjat Station, CSMT to Panvel Station, Thane to Panvel Station, and Churchgate to Virar Station will need to make alternative arrangements during this time.

Introducing Alternative Water Bottle Brands:

To ensure that travelers’ hydration needs are met during this brief Rail Neer hiatus, railway authorities have approved the sale of water bottles from nine alternative brands. These approved brands include Sunrich, Gallan, Oxymore, Rococo, Health Plus, Nimbus, Oxyblue, Elvish, and Eionita.

It is important to note that the water quality of these alternative brands is on par with that of Rail Neer, maintaining the highest standards of safety and purity. Additionally, the pricing remains consistent, with each bottle priced at Rs 15, mirroring the cost of a Rail Neer water bottle.
