NHAI Announces Toll Rate Hike for Delhi Entry and Exit Points: Prepare for Increased Travel Expenses

“Commuters on Delhi-Meerut and Eastern Peripheral Expressways to Face Adjusted Toll Charges”

As the clock ticks towards April 1st, travelers traversing the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway are set to encounter a slight bump in their commuting expenses, courtesy of a 5% hike in toll rates announced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The NHAI’s decision to raise toll charges, effective from midnight on March 31st, comes as part of its routine financial adjustments aimed at sustaining infrastructure development and maintenance.

The Delhi-Meerut Expressway, celebrated for its role in enhancing connectivity between the National Capital Region and Uttar Pradesh, has been instrumental in reducing travel time and alleviating congestion on key routes.

Likewise, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway has played a pivotal role in streamlining traffic flow and providing a vital bypass for vehicles bound for Delhi. However, with the impending toll rate hike, commuters must brace themselves for the accompanying increase in travel costs.

Current and Revised Toll Rates:

Presently, the toll for a car journey from Meerut to Sarai Kale Khan stands at ₹160, while for light vehicles, it amounts to ₹250. Following the slated 5% increment, these charges will undergo a proportional rise.

Similarly, for cars traveling from Meerut to Indirapuram, the existing toll fee is ₹110, with light vehicles charged ₹175. Meanwhile, the journey from Meerut to Dundahera presently incurs ₹85 for cars and ₹140 for light vehicles. These toll rates will also be subject to the anticipated 5% adjustment, reflecting the NHAI’s mandate.

As commuters prepare to navigate these expressways post-April 1st, it becomes imperative to factor in the revised toll charges into their travel budgets, ensuring a seamless and financially sound journey.
