Narayana Flyover Repairs Prompt 20-Day Road Closure, Traffic Diversion Routes Activated

New Delhi’s Narayana Flyover on the Ring Road is slated for repair works commencing this Wednesday, sparking a 20-day closure that is expected to disrupt traffic flow between Dhaula Kuan and Raja Garden. Concurrently, ongoing construction activities on the Punjabi Bagh flyover are anticipated to compound traffic woes in the area.

Traffic Diversion Strategies:

To mitigate the anticipated traffic congestion, motorists traveling from Dhaula Kuan are advised to utilize diversion routes via Delhi Cantt, proceeding along Jail Road to reach Mayapuri Chowk on the Ring Road. Alternatively, drivers can opt for Vandemataram Marg through Loha Mandi to access Mayapuri Chowk.

Permission Granted for Crucial Repairs:

The repair works, deemed essential for ensuring road safety, have received approval from the traffic police. Commencing from May 1st, one section of the Narayana Flyover (from Delhi Cantt towards Raja Garden) will be closed to traffic, while the opposite direction (from Raja Garden towards Dhaula Kuan) will remain operational.

Impact on Commuters:

The impending road closure is poised to have a significant impact on traffic flow, particularly along the stretch from Delhi Cantt Metro Station to Punjabi Bagh, where traffic congestion is already prevalent due to ongoing flyover construction activities.

In light of past instances of delayed repair works, the Public Works Department (PWD) has been urged by the traffic authorities to expedite the repairs within the stipulated timeframe to minimize disruption to commuters. Commuters are advised to plan their travel routes in advance and consider alternative transportation options to circumvent potential delays.

Final Thoughts:

As the Narayana Flyover prepares for essential repair works, authorities are committed to implementing efficient traffic diversion measures to mitigate congestion and ensure the safety of commuters. With proactive planning and cooperation from motorists, the temporary inconvenience caused by the road closure can be navigated effectively, ultimately leading to improved infrastructure and enhanced road safety for all.
