Is Honda Set to Unveil the Stylo 160? Patent Filing Sparks Speculation

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have set tongues wagging with the recent patent filing for the Stylo 160 scooter in India, hinting at a potential addition to their premium scooter lineup. Originally launched in Indonesia earlier this year, the Stylo 160 has garnered attention for its distinctive design and feature-rich offerings. While Honda has yet to provide official confirmation, enthusiasts are abuzz with anticipation, speculating on the scooter’s prospects in the Indian market.

Premium Design with Modern Flourishes:

Setting itself apart with a blend of modern-retro aesthetics, the Stylo 160 exudes a sense of sophistication and style. Equipped with LED lighting, a digital display, USB charging, keyless start, and 12-inch alloy wheels, the scooter promises a premium riding experience. Notably larger than Honda’s Activa range, the Stylo 160 boasts enhanced road presence and a spacious, comfortable seat, appealing to discerning riders seeking both style and substance.

Power and Performance:

Underneath its sleek exterior, the Stylo 160 packs a punch with its 156.9 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering a spirited performance of 15 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Supported by telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm with a monoshock at the rear, the scooter ensures a smooth and controlled ride. The braking setup, comprising a 220 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, offers reliable stopping power, with lower variants featuring a 190 mm front disc and drum brake unit at the rear. With options for CBS on lower variants and ABS on higher variants, the Stylo 160 prioritizes safety and control on every journey.

Future Prospects:

While the patent filing ignites excitement, it’s important to note that it doesn’t guarantee an immediate launch. Instead, it lays the groundwork for potential future endeavors, ensuring all legalities are in order should Honda decide to greenlight the project. Interestingly, this isn’t the only recent patent filed by Honda, with designs for the CB500 Hornet and CBR500R also making headlines.
