From Air to Gravity: Lucid’s Electric SUV Dominates with Unmatched Range

Electric vehicles have witnessed a revolution, with the Lucid Air leading the charge, offering unmatched range, performance, and cutting-edge technology. However, the Air’s sedan design limits its market reach in an SUV-dominated landscape. Enter the Lucid Gravity, a three-row, seven-passenger SUV slated for a 2024 launch, poised to redefine electric SUV capabilities with an impressive range.

The Lucid Gravity’s Mileage Marvel: Breaking EV Boundaries

While SUVs often grapple with compromising efficiency, the Lucid Gravity defies expectations. Despite its weight and altered aerodynamics compared to the Air, Lucid boasts an impressive 440 miles of range. Though slightly shy of the Air’s 516-mile range, it outshines all current electric vehicles, SUVs included. The Gravity’s aerodynamic prowess, with a coefficient of drag (Cd) at 0.24, surpasses competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and matches the Tesla Model X.

Interior Splendor: Combining Comfort and Utility

The Lucid Gravity doesn’t compromise on passenger and cargo space. Featuring sliding second-row seats with integrated tables and a third row boasting remarkable legroom, it strikes a balance between comfort and practicality. With 112 cubic feet of cargo space and a spacious frunk, the Gravity ensures versatility for both everyday needs and adventurous pursuits.

Tech Marvels and Performance Prowess

At the forefront of innovation, the Lucid Gravity hosts a 34-inch curved OLED panel, serving as both the instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen. Introducing Lucid’s next-generation software, the Gravity promises continual over-the-air updates throughout its lifespan. While Lucid hasn’t disclosed horsepower figures, the all-wheel-drive Gravity can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds. With a 6,000-pound towing capacity, 1,500-pound payload capacity, optional air suspension for off-road capabilities, and a 900-volt electrical architecture for rapid charging, the Gravity embodies performance and versatility.

The Lucid Gravity in the Electric SUV Arena: Pricing and Competition

As Lucid gears up for production in late 2024, the Gravity aims for a base price below $80,000, positioning it competitively in the electric luxury SUV segment. Facing rivals like the Mercedes EQS SUV, Tesla Model X, Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX, Cadillac Lyriq, and Rivian R1S, the Gravity stands out with its unparalleled range and charging speed.
