Pune: Sandalwood tree stolen from premises of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha

PUNE: The sandalwood thieves are having a field day in the city. An incident has been reported wherein thieves cut a sandalwood tree from the premises of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha and took it away.

Ashish Pawar has lodged a complaint at the Warje police station. Pawar is a security officer at the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha. The thieves entered the premises of the institute and cut the sandalwood tree and took it away. After the incident came to light, a complaint has been lodged with the police, PSI Javalgi is carrying out a probe.

The sandalwood thieves are targeting sandalwood trees located in various areas. They have entered the premises of government and private organisations. Last week, the thieves had cut a sandalwood tree from the premises of Kirloskar Company at Khadki. There had been a scuffle between security guards and the thieves.
