Pune: Shiv Sena leader Raghunath Kuchik’s bail cancelled in rape case

PUNE: The Shivaji Nagar District Sessions court has cancelled the bail granted to Shiv Sena deputy leader Raghunath Kuchik in a case where a girl was raped under the pretext of marriage. The orders were issued by Addl Sessions Judge VA Patravale. After being granted bail, the accused has violated conditions laid down by the court. Hence, he does not have a right to be freed on bail. The court order said that the bail is being misused and the bail granted to Kuchik should be cancelled. The court has issued instructions to the police that a NBW should be issued against Kuchik.

An FIR had been registered at the Shivaji Nagar police station against Kuchik for raping a girl, carrying out her abortion after threatening her and issuing threat of killing her. Kuchik had been granted bail by the court on March 11, 2022. The victim had submitted an application in the Shivaji Nagar police station that the accused did not abide by the terms and conditions of the bail and hence, his bail should be cancelled.

The victim had submitted a petition through Ad Sagar Shinde. Ad Shinde argued that Kuchik’s bail should be cancelled because he had not abided by the terms and conditions of the bail. The court accepted the argument and cancelled Kuchik’s bail. Ad Sagar Shinde, Ad Sushir Shinde and Ad Vishaka Jagtap appeared on behalf of the victim.
