Opera’s iOS Browser Integrates AI Assistant Aria for Enhanced User Experience

Opera, a leading web browser app for iOS, is introducing an innovative AI assistant named Aria. Collaboratively developed with OpenAI, Aria is set to enhance the browsing experience for Opera users on iOS devices. This advanced browser AI, previously launched on Opera’s desktop and Android platforms, will now be seamlessly integrated into the iOS browser, extending its availability to all users.

Having achieved over 1 million users on Opera’s desktop and Android versions, Aria’s integration into the iOS browser further expands its reach. The AI solution is available across major platforms including Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and now iOS.

Opera users have the autonomy to opt-in to Aria’s capabilities, as it is not a mandatory feature. For those who choose to engage with the AI service, Aria will provide intelligent insights, responsive voice commands, and various innovative ideas. To access Aria, users need to log into their Opera accounts. If an account is not yet created, it can easily be established within the app.

Aria is rooted in Opera’s proprietary “Composer” infrastructure, which seamlessly connects with OpenAI’s cutting-edge GPT technology. This partnership empowers Aria to tap into multiple AI models and expand its capabilities over time, including advances in search and AI services. Opera has hinted at the forthcoming unveiling of its plans related to generative AI and other AI-centric features.

Similar to other AI-powered search companions, Opera’s iOS version offers a chatbot-like interface, allowing users to ask questions and receive AI-generated responses, offering an alternative to traditional web searches. The AI interface can be accessed via the “more” menu in the Opera iOS app, or users can opt for voice input by tapping the microphone icon instead of typing.

In the past, Opera has made significant strides in integrating AI solutions. AI Prompts, for instance, enabled users to initiate conversations with generative AI to summarize articles, craft tweets, or request relevant content based on highlighted text.

Opera for iOS provides users with a comprehensive range of features, including built-in ad blocking, a free VPN, tracking prevention, a crypto wallet, private browsing support, and more. The addition of Aria is expected to not only augment user engagement but also lead to increased time spent on the platform, indicative of the AI tool’s positive impact on Opera’s metrics.

With Aria’s integration into the iOS browser, Opera is further positioning itself at the forefront of AI-powered web browsing, aiming to provide users with an intuitive and seamless online experience.
