Gmail’s ‘Select All’ Feature Lands on Android for Easier Inbox Organization

Google is introducing a new feature to Gmail on Android that’s set to make inbox organization a breeze. The feature, aptly named ‘Select All,’ is already a familiar tool for Gmail web users, allowing them to efficiently manage their email clutter by selecting multiple messages at once for actions like deletion. Now, Google is extending this convenience to Android users, making email management on mobile devices more seamless.

According to reports, this new feature will be rolling out to users soon. To access this handy addition, simply head to the Google Play Store and update your Gmail app. Once your app is up to date, you’ll likely spot the ‘Select All’ feature in action.

While it’s certainly a welcome addition, it’s worth noting that there is a limit to how many emails you can select for bulk actions. Users will be able to select and manage up to 50 emails at once. Nevertheless, this feature remains incredibly useful, especially on mobile devices, where efficiency is paramount.

How to Use the ‘Select All’ Feature in Gmail on Android:

Android users can now easily declutter their inbox with the following steps:

Step 1: After updating the Gmail app, launch it on your Android device.

Step 2: Tap and hold on any email in your inbox to activate the selection mode.

Step 3: Check the checkbox at the top of the screen to select all the visible emails (up to 50).

Step 4: Tap the Delete button to remove all the selected emails.

Step 5: If needed, uncheck any important or necessary emails to prevent them from being deleted.

As mentioned earlier, this ‘Select All’ feature is not entirely new, as it’s already available on the web version of Gmail. PC users have been enjoying the convenience of decluttering their Gmail inboxes using a similar method.

How to Use the ‘Select All’ Feature in Gmail on the Web:

Step 1: Open Gmail in your web browser.

Step 2: Simply click the checkbox located at the top, just above the Primary tab.

Step 3: After performing the previous step, you’ll be able to select multiple emails. The ‘Select All’ checkbox on the web allows you to delete up to 50 emails simultaneously.

Step 4: Click the Delete or Trash button to eliminate all the selected emails.

With these straightforward steps, you can efficiently manage and declutter your Gmail inbox, whether you’re using the Android app or the web version. The addition of the ‘Select All’ feature is set to streamline email management for Gmail users on the go.
