This initiative marks the initial phase of a multi-year program aimed at modernizing all eir retail outlets throughout Ireland, enhancing the in-person customer experience.

Modernizing In-Person Experiences:

The project is already in progress, with key locations such as Grafton Street and Henry Street in Dublin, the Ilac Centre, and O’Connell Street in Limerick having completed their renovations. The remaining stores are scheduled for full revamp and operational readiness by November, perfectly timed for the bustling holiday shopping season.

Eir’s renovated stores showcase modern design, advanced technology, and environmentally friendly elements. These stores utilize heat mapping technology to analyze customer behavior, optimizing the timing of display screens to reduce energy consumption.

Furthermore, the revamped stores are equipped with energy-efficient lighting technology and have transitioned to paperless operations, unless paper usage is explicitly requested by customers. Eir highlights that its “go paperless” initiative has already led to a substantial 92 percent reduction in paper usage across its network of over 70 stores.

Age-Friendly Care Services:

In another endeavor, eir is expanding its Age-Friendly Care service to all its stores nationwide. Originally introduced in partnership with Age Action and Age Friendly Ireland, this service provided customer care and technical support to individuals aged 65 or over over the phone.

Due to high demand, eir has decided to extend this service to in-person support for senior customers, facilitated by specially trained team members. Since its introduction two years ago, the Age-Friendly Care line has received over 65,000 calls, emphasizing eir’s commitment to serving all segments of its customer base.
