Pune – Deccan Gymkhana emerged victorious in the PYC-Goldfieldd MANDKE TROPHY, sponsored by Goldfieldd Properties and organized by PYC Hindu Gymkhana, by overpowering Poona Club in a dominant performance that saw them secure victory by an innings and 112 runs.
Starting the final day with an overnight score of 214 runs for 3 wickets, Deccan Gymkhana continued to display their cricketing prowess. They posted a commendable total of 313 runs (278 net runs) for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 40 overs. The standout performer was Suraj Shinde, who played a magnificent innings, scoring 106 runs (114 balls, including 8 boundaries and 2 sixes). Shinde’s partnership of 63 runs with Ajay Borude for the fourth wicket played a crucial role in Deccan Gymkhana’s commanding lead.
