Ace the Game: MSLTA’s Mens ITF Championship Offers Indian Tennis Players a Shot at Glory

The Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) is gearing up to host the $25,000 Mens ITF tennis championships, set to unfold on the MSLTA courts from November 20 to November 26. This event not only marks the commencement of a busy tennis season for MSLTA but also provides a golden opportunity for Indian players to earn valuable prize money and ATP points.

Sunder Iyer, the Hon Secretary of MSLTA and the tournament director, shared that players from 17 countries will participate in the event. This is the second consecutive year that Mumbai will host the championship, offering a significant platform for Indian players to compete on home soil and accumulate crucial ATP points.

In addition to notable Davis Cuppers like Ramkumar Ramanathan, Digvijay Pratap Singh, and Siddarth Rawat, the main draw features promising talents such as Karan Singh, Siddharth Vishwakarma, Dev Javia, and Manish Sureshkumar. The championship’s winners will not only claim a significant cash prize but also earn 50 ATP points, enhancing their international rankings.

The breakdown of ATP points for the tournament includes 30 points for the Runners-Up, 18 points for the Semifinalists, 9 points for the Quarterfinalists, 5 points for the Round of 16, and 1 point for the Round of 32. The qualifying rounds will take place on November 20 and 21, while the main draw matches will unfold from November 21 to 26. Amorn Duangpinkin of Thailand has been appointed as the ITF Supervisor for the event.

Among the notable players in the main draw are Evgeny Donskoy (Rus 262), Louis Wessels (GER 342), Vladyslav Orlov (UKR 470), and the Indian talents Digvijay Pratap Singh, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Siddharth Rawat, and S D Prajwal Dev.

This championship promises an exciting blend of global tennis talent and a platform for Indian players to showcase their skills and climb the ATP rankings.
