Two lakh Puneites take voting slips; citizens benefit through Mohol’s efficient poll machinery

Murlidhar Mohol

Pune: Maha Yuti-BJP candidate Murlidhar Mohol’s contact office has revealed that two lakh voters took voter slips till date from them. In the backdrop of dropping turnouts across the country, this is good news.

Mohol’s campaign coordinator Nilesh Kondhalkar said, “Mohol’s candidature was declared quite some time before others. This helped in setting up and activating the campaign machinery. We launched a helpline for getting online and offline voting slips a month ago. Our campaign material had the QR code to find out one’s name in the voters’ list. Puneites are eager to exercise their franchise and are taking voter slips. A large number of people are enquiring on the helpline and visiting our office for voter slips. At least two lakh people have taken slips from our office in the past one month.

“Voting is five days away. We have an army of over 2,000 trained workers who will go door-to-door and distribute slips.”

38,000 voter names dropped in Kothrud?

Many people contacting Murlidhar Mohol’s contact office for voter slip realised that their names did not figure in the voters’ list. Around 38,000 voter names, who had voted last time, have been dropped from the list. It seems that they have lost their right to vote as they ignored the Election Commission’s appeals to update their details in the voters’ list. Citizens are demanding that the EC should provide them an opportunity to update their details.
