Retired Colonel Suresh Patil Joins Bharat Rastra Samiti (B.R.S.) to Pursue Social and Environmental Causes

Hyderabad/Pune, July 2, 2023: Colonel Suresh Patil, a retired soldier with an illustrious 25-year military career, has embarked on a new chapter in his life, driven by a strong sense of national responsibility and a passion for social and environmental causes.

Colonel Patil has established three charitable organizations aimed at nation-building, environmental conservation, welfare schemes for soldiers’ widows and ex-soldiers, and promoting national integration. These organizations include the Green Thumb Environment Organization in Pune, the Justice for Jawan Organization, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Muslim Brigade.

His outstanding environmental work, particularly his efforts to increase the water level of the Khadakwasla Dam by removing significant amounts of silt and distributing it to farmers in need, has garnered attention both within India and internationally. Recognizing his achievements, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao extended an invitation to Colonel Patil and a group of retired army officers to join the Bharat Rastra Samiti (B.R.S.) party in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana.

Under the banner of Green Thumb, Colonel Patil and his team continue their tireless work in removing silt from the Khadakwasla Dam, providing it to farmers, and undertaking extensive tree planting initiatives in the dam area for environmental protection. Their ongoing efforts aim to revitalize not only the Khadakwasla Dam but also the Ner Dhara in Satara, the Hippargi Dam in Solapur, and other vital locations. Colonel Patil actively engages with farmers and the general public, addressing their concerns and striving for social welfare.

Recognizing the need for individuals with a deep understanding of the lives of common people and a strong sense of social consciousness in politics, Shankar Anna Dhondge, the Chief of the Maharashtra State of the Bharat Rastra Samiti Party, invited Colonel Suresh Patil to join the party. To discuss the challenges faced by farmers and the common people of Maharashtra, Colonel Patil was invited to a three-hour meeting with Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao at his residence in Hyderabad on July 2, 2023.

Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and the Bharat Rastra Samiti Party have gained recognition for their successful efforts in resolving issues faced by farmers and the underprivileged in Telangana. Inspired by their accomplishments, Chief Minister Rao aims to address similar challenges faced by farmers in Maharashtra.

With the slogan “Abki Bar Kisan Sarkar” (This time, a government for the farmers), the Bharat Rastra Samiti Party has handpicked individuals who genuinely care about farmers’ issues and actively work towards their welfare. Colonel Suresh Patil, renowned for his dedication and contributions to farmers’ causes, was invited by Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao to join the Bharat Rastra Samiti Party.

On July 2, 2023, Colonel Suresh Patil officially joined the Bharat Rastra Samiti Party at Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao’s residence in Hyderabad. His decision to join the party reflects his commitment to serving the people of Maharashtra and advocating for the welfare of farmers and the underprivileged. With his extensive experience and passion for social and environmental causes, Colonel Patil’s addition to the party is expected to further strengthen their efforts to bring about positive change in Maharashtra’s political landscape.
