Pune: I will work for conservation of forts: Murlidhar Mohol

Pune: Maha Yuti-BJP Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol has said that he would never compromise with the thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He was speaking at a public get-together organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj. As many as 27 Hindu organisations from Pune came together and held the get-together at Balgandharva Rangmandir on Monday. A huge number of youths and other citizens were present.

The programme began by worshipping the images of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Prabhu Shri Ram. Main speaker Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kendriya Sahmantri Shankarji Gaikar narrated the struggle for building the Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He appealed to all Hindus to unite.

Murlidhar Mohol lauded the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He explained how Pune’s culture will be protected and its development guaranteed.

He said, “The Indian Government has sent nominations of 12 forts from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj era to be included in the Unesco World Heritage Sites list. These forts are Raigad, Salher fort, Shivneri fort, Lohgad, Khanderi fort, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Suvarndurg, Panhala fort, Vijaydurg, Sindhudurg, and Jinji fort in Tamil Nadu. A proposal on the Maratha Army sites has been sent to the Unesco by the Indian Government in 2024-25.

“Most of the forts in the list are located in the Sahyadri ranges. They display the strategic might of the Marathas and were built between the 17th and 19th centuries. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established the ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ with the help of these forts. I will work for restoration and preservation of these forts as a part of my duty.”

Kishor Chavan, Parag Thakur, Deepak Nagpure, Swpanil Naik, Lokesh Kondhre, Sanjay Bhosale, Kishor Yenpure, Shrikant Shilimkar and Aniket Harpude spoke and extended their support to Murlidhar Mohol. Mahesh Pavle compered the programme.
