Allegaes hospitals of looting money & not giving the benefit of government health schemes

Pune: Poor patients who come to Pune for treatment from villages are being looted. General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress Rohan Suravase Patil demanded that these hospitals, which steal the government’s and the patients’ money by using the benefits of government schemes for their interest, should be thoroughly investigated. The statement of this demand has been given by Suravase to the Collector, State Secretary, Health Minister, and Chief Minister through email.

Rohan Survase Patil said, “Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and other government schemes are available in many private and charitable hospitals in the city. However, patients do not get these schemes’ benefits if they are unaware. Hospitals demand Rs. 50,000 in advance to start the treatment.”

“They often take documents from the patients in the name of providing these health facilities. They are treated under the scheme. However, later the patient is cheated by saying that, he does not fit the scheme. Instead, money is collected from the patients by promising that the hospital will negotiate the bill. But in reality, they charge the double. This is a big racket, double looting is going on. If anyone complains to the charity commissioner, then the patient will not be treated properly. Doctors, hospital administration, and staff will ill-treat the patient and his relatives. Treatment will be stopped. Unfortunately, this is not being taken seriously even by the Charity Commissionerate.”

“This kind of looting of the common people is very serious. Today, hospital administration, management, and doctors own properties worth crores. Money is being raised by looting patients and from government schemes. The government should take serious note of this and conduct a thorough investigation at the senior level. Survase Patil also warned that this is such a big and serious matter that an investigation should be done through ED or CBI and action should be taken against the culprits. He also warned of a strong agitation against hospitals and charity commissioners by the Youth Congress.

Quote

The looting of the common, poor people by charitable hospitals or private hospitals where there is the facility of the government schemes is infuriating. Hospitals and their staff have no humanity left as they take advantage of the situation of poor patients. They are looting the money of the poor as well as from the government schemes. It needs to be curbed in time.
