Pune: The Maha Yuti-BJP Pune Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol has expressed the confidence that the Chandni Chowk flyover project will prove pathfinder in solving traffic issues faced at the entry and exit points along the highways around the city and in the city. This will speed up the growth wheel of the city.

Mohol was speaking at the conclusion of an election rally passing through Bhelke Nagar, Gujarat Colony, Azad Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Sutardara, Jai Bhavani Nagar, Rambaug Colony, Hanuman Nagar to Mega City.

State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, former MP Sanjay Kakade, NCP (AP) City Unit Chief Deepak Mankar, MNS leader Kishor Shinde, Sudhir Dhavde, Dr Sandeep Butala, former corporator Chhaya Marne, Vasanti Jadhav, Alpana Varpe, Dr Shraddha Pathak, Dilip Vede Patil, Kiran Dagde Patil participated in the rally.

Mohol said, “I insisted that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) should provide permanent solutions to traffic issues in and around the city. The ambitious project was completed under the guidance of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

“On these lines, flyovers, railway over-bridges and grade separators will be built at 21 places in the city for speedy, smooth and safe traffic. These projects will be implemented with Rs 2,000 crore provided by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.”

Pune’s first two-storey flyover at Nal Stop

Mohol said, “Traffic in the Karve road area has become smoother due to the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Two-storey Flyover, which has been built jointly by the civic body and the MahaMetro. This is the first two-storey flyover in the city. Four-lane traffic is going on there. It is saving travel time and effort.”
