Nitin Gadkari’s Quip on Sharad Pawar Sparks Political Controversy

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s recent comparison of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar to a Japanese doll has stirred up the political atmosphere in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district. Known for his candid and characteristic Nagpuri style statements, Gadkari addressed BJP workers at a program in BJP Nagpur (Rural) on Sunday, where he made the unusual analogy.

During his speech, Gadkari likened Sharad Pawar’s demeanor to that of a Japanese doll often found at paan shops. He humorously remarked that the doll appears to be winking at everyone who glances at it. Similarly, according to Gadkari, when Pawar surveys a crowd, people often feel as though he has locked eyes with them. This playful analogy brought laughter among the workers present at the event.

Gadkari went on to highlight the uncertainties of politics, emphasizing that despite the hard work put in by party workers, the final decision on ticket distribution during elections might not always align with their expectations. He advised BJP workers and leaders to “think for the best and prepare for the worst.” In essence, he urged them to focus on their duties diligently and consider any additional rewards as a bonus.

It is worth noting that this is the first time Nitin Gadkari has made such a statement about the 82-year-old veteran leader Sharad Pawar. Consequently, the remark has become a topic of discussion in the political corridors of Maharashtra. As of now, there has been no response from the NCP regarding Gadkari’s comments.

While political personalities are known for their occasional jibes and humorous comments, it is crucial to remember the importance of respectful communication in public discourse. Comments and analogies like these can add some light-heartedness to the political environment, but it is equally vital to maintain a sense of decorum and uphold the dignity of public figures.
