In a startling incident in Gurugram’s South City 2 residential area, a drone operated by logistics provider Skye Air crashed during an attempted frozen chicken delivery, causing panic among residents. The collision occurred with a dish antenna, leading to the toppling of the drone onto a rooftop and prompting an emergency landing.
The unfortunate incident took place against the backdrop of Chief Minister ML Khattar’s visit to the district, which was under prohibitory orders at the time. Skye Air has attributed the collision to an obstacle in the drone’s path, necessitating an emergency landing in a nearby open area. However, the uneven surface caused the drone to collide with the dish antenna, intensifying concerns about the safety of drone operations in residential areas.
A case has been registered against Skye Air for violating prohibitory orders during the Chief Minister’s visit, and investigations are currently underway. This incident highlights the need for stringent regulations and adherence to safety protocols to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
