Uber Launches EV Auto Service in Ayodhya, Aiming for Sustainable Mobility Growth

Uber, India’s prominent ride-hailing app, flagged off its EV auto rickshaw service in the sacred city of Ayodhya, with the honorable Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The introduction of electric auto-rickshaws under the popular Uber Auto category marks Uber’s commitment to providing convenient, affordable, and sustainable mobility solutions as Ayodhya anticipates a surge in footfall.

In addition to the EV Autos, Uber will soon commence operations of UberGo, its most economical car product, and Uber Intercity, a rapidly growing mobility product catering to inter-city travel needs to and from Ayodhya. This holistic approach aims to connect the temple city to various destinations, contributing significantly to tourism, travel, and economic growth in Uttar Pradesh.

The expansion into Ayodhya aligns with Uber’s growth plans in India, reflecting the company’s ‘India to Bharat’ strategy, increasing its footprint and product offerings in regional markets. Uber remains dedicated to delivering a multi-modal experience to riders across the country.

Commenting on the launch, Prabhjeet Singh, President Uber India and South Asia said, “We are excited to expand our services to Ayodhya as it emerges on the travel map of millions. With this expansion, we are not only providing enhanced mobility options for tourists and pilgrims but also unlocking earning opportunities for many more in the region. We are committed to contributing to the city’s tourism, promoting a seamless travel experience and fostering sustainable economic growth.”
