Legal Hurdles for ‘Jolly LLB 3’: Film Faces Allegations of Disrespecting Judiciary

The eagerly anticipated comedy film ‘Jolly LLB 3’, featuring Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has hit a roadblock as it finds itself entangled in legal controversy. Allegations of disrespect towards the judiciary system have surfaced, leading to a complaint filed against the film’s team in Ajmer. The legal dispute raises concerns about the portrayal of legal institutions in popular media and underscores the need for sensitivity and respect in cinematic depictions.

The Allegations: Ajmer District Bar Association President, Chandrabhan Singh Rathod, has lodged a formal complaint against the producers, director, and actors of ‘Jolly LLB 3’, citing concerns about the film’s portrayal of lawyers and judges. The complaint contends that the franchise ridicules legal professionals and portrays them in an inappropriate and indecent light. Chandrabhan expressed apprehension that the film’s depiction of violence and unethical behavior among lawyers and judges tarnishes the dignity and prestige of the judiciary system.

Legal Action: In response to the complaint, the Ajmer District Bar Association has taken legal action, filing an application in the court of Civil Judge Ajmer North to halt the shooting of ‘Jolly LLB 3’. The association seeks to prevent further production of the film until the matter is addressed, requesting the issuance of a notice to the film’s stakeholders. The hearing of the case is imminent, with both sides preparing to present their arguments.

Film Details: Despite the legal hurdles, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ continues production, with filming commencing in Ajmer on April 29. The film sees Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi reprising their roles as lawyers, with Subhash Kapoor directing the project. The third installment promises an engaging conflict between the protagonists, with Saurabh Shukla returning to portray a judge.

Reflections on Media Portrayal: The legal controversy surrounding ‘Jolly LLB 3’ prompts reflection on the portrayal of the judiciary system in popular media. While artistic freedom allows for creative interpretation, it is imperative to approach sensitive subjects with caution and respect. The incident underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity and dignity of legal institutions in cinematic narratives.
